National Defense University (NDU) Islamabad is the premier Institution of Pakistan Armed Forces, established to impart education in fields of strategy, statecraft, warfare, public policy, leadership, and peace studies. Institute for Strategic Studies, Research and Analysis (ISSRA) is a think tank of NDU which focuses on contemporary security and strategic issues. Institute provides analysis on national security, foreign policy, strategic trends and public policy by bringing new strategic perspectives under discussion. ISSRA, has introduced the International Workshop on Leadership & Security (IWLS). IWLS is one-week workshop for global leaders, senior policy makers, diplomats and senior executives. MANTAQ designs and organizes (IWLS) with ISSRA. MANTAQ provides support to ISSRA and NDU to organize the IWLS, including inviting international participants from our global network. It provides understanding of regional, economic and strategic developments in South Asia - Central Asia in the domain of international policy making, especially in the wake of Belt & Road Initiative (BRI) of which China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a key project. The workshop is attended by international participants and national participants. The overarching aim of the workshop is manifold including but not limited to immersive deliberations, carving policies for a shared sustainable future, to brainstorm the evolving global security landscape, intellect based interactions between the national, political and military leadership as well as the participants, and especially highlighting the strategically important locations of Pakistan.
